Every Wednesday and Thursday mornings come and join
us for some great stories, songs and craft activities. Storytime lasts around 45 minutes from 10.00am
and is suitable for 3-5 year olds.

Computer Classes
The Library runs regular computer classes on the first Tuesday in the month, for more information
contact Library staff. The classes are small, friendly and informal, each participant will have access to a computer. However, some basic computer
knowledge is required.

Book Club

The Rockingham Regional Campus Community Library has started a Book Club
which meets at the Library once a month on the second Saturday in the month.. If you
enjoy reading books and would like to discuss them with others, or if
you would like to try reading something a bit different this might be
the place for you..
Some of the books we have read and are going to read are : The Book
Thief by Markus Zusak, Stone Diaries by Carol Shields, Life
of Pi by Yann Martel, Journey from Venice by Ruth Cracknell,
A Fortunate Life by Albert Facey and Balzac & the Little
Chinese Seamstress by Dai Sijie.
Come along and join in the discussion with a small friendly group. To

SKILLS
Classes on the following topics are available for students at the Rockingham
Campus, if you are interested in attending these classes contact the
Library to register your interest.
Ejournals and Databases: An Overview
For most researchers today digital information is where it's at! Find
out about about the Library's research journal databases and e-journals,
and how to access them both on and off campus. A selection of databases
will be demonstrated including full-text databases. This is a hands-on
session where you will have time to explore.
An Introduction to EndNote for Windows
EndNote is personal bibliographic management software which allows you
to:
• Organise references in a database
• Create bibliographies automatically using your word processor
• Search some bibliographic databases on the Internet
This introductory session is aimed at users new to the EndNote software.
Find out how to create a new EndNote library and add references to your
library, and how to quickly and easily create bibliographies within your
documents.
Web research : where to begin?
This is a workshop for those who have started using the Internet, but
can’t quite find what they’re looking for. See how to use
the Library's home page as a starting point for your Web research. Look
at structuring search strategies, comparing different search engines,
and evaluating your search results.
Introduction to referencing with APA style
Uncertain how to reference your essays and academic assignments? This
session will give you the basics of how to create a reference list using
the APA Style, and how to cite references in the text of your essays.
You will also be given the opportunity to practice your referencing skills.
