Rockingham Regional Campus Community Library

Governance

The Rockingham Regional Campus Community Library was established in February 1998. It is a joint use library delivering the information and recreational needs of three stakeholder groups: Murdoch University, Challenger TAFE and the City of Rockingham.

The governance of the library is based on one employer, in this case, Murdoch University, providing outsourced library services to Challenger TAFE and the City of Rockingham. This has ensured equity across the organisation with all staff on the same industrial award, same conditions and the same remuneration structure.

A Policy Advisory Committee supports the Campus Librarian in the management of the library and has representation from all stakeholder groups.  The Policy Advisory Committee meets quarterly and its role is to approve the library budget, endorse its strategic direction and plan for the future needs of the three partner institutions.
